A Daily Prompt: Inside the Expressible’s Studio…
A post in response to NaBloPoMo prompt challenge:
1. What is your favorite word?
Serendipity. I love the sound and musical flow of the word itself. But I also love its meaning, “a happy accident; discovering something fortunate unexpectedly.”
2. What is your least favorite word?
Tragedy. One simple word with the force and devastation of a typhoon-strength storm. Whether it be in abrupt suddeness or horrific terror, there is nothing good about that word or its results.
3. What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally?
Creatively, I am inspired by the flow and arrangement of words and how they can possess great power in fashioning a mood, a feeling, an atmosphere from nothing but the captivating imagination of someone else’s mind.
Spiritually I am inspired by God especially through the changing of the seasons and what each season brings in its glory, beauty and uniqueness.
Emotionally, I am inspired by relationships. Those I share with family, friends, random strangers. I appreciate being surprised and delighted by unexpected kindness. I am moved to be remembered by anyone for anything I’ve done. And I cherish conversation and the lifelong pursuit of understanding other people.
4. What turns you off?
Unkind, ungrateful people who care nothing about hurting another person.
5. What is your favorite curse word?
Shit. It still carries enough muscle to get the point across. The “other” word is reserved for explosive moments.
6. What sound or noise do you love?
My children laughing. The clinking of dishes in a kitchen in preparation for a meal. The swishing of trees in a gentle breeze.
7. What sound or noise do you hate?
Screeching tires. Screams of terror. Shouting in anger. Wailing in grief.
8. What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
Teaching. I love being around children and seeing their faces when they are inspired, excited, inquisitive.
9. What profession would you not like to do?
Sanitation garbage collection. Ugh! It definitely takes a special kind of person.
10. If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?
Heaven does exist, and I can only dream being told by God, “Welcome! You’ve earned this.” 🙂
Thanks. That was fun. Cheers!
Cute! So what would you say to people who actually ARE the #9s of the world? 🙂 B. On 11/14/13 10:06 PM, “The Expressib
