The Used-To-Be

calvin-and-hobbes_true-friends

It’s been a while…
You greet cheerfully.
The phone doesn’t ring anymore…
You text carefree.
I miss our lunches to fanciful cafés with buzzing atmospheres…
You pass, friendly.
Plans that used to be made no longer are…
You aren’t worried.
I wait for a sign of inner you…
You show nothing.
I wish a chat could rise, twist and turn and roll out into an infinity of discovery…
You remain closed.
I wonder if something happened that could explain such absence…
You fly unconcerned.
I don’t know who you are but I wish I did…
You’ll never tell.
We remain… in disconnect.
