Wordy Wait Fate
Merry is lit bit I do
Writing go and flow
Colder air fair carries hint
Much I know and show
Wordy wait fate care I take
Dapple light shine bright
Festive decore more I want
Linger flight through night
Carry on here merely inch
So much high and nigh
Head laid fade out slump and reach
Seek to fly but sigh.
Shut up pup just get it done
Buckle down no frown
Get those letters fetters out
Peace in gown not crown.

Hi Paula, what a lovely poem. With such a certain rhythm and direction. This stanza was my favorite,
“Carry on here merely inch
So much high and nigh
Head laid fade out slump and reach
Seek to fly but sigh.”
So powerful — especially that last line! I think all of us have felt (or feel) that way. “Seek to fly but sigh.” Really, just five words and you captured a wealth of emotion. Fabulous.
Thanks so much Melissa. Endless poetry seems to be coming out of my editing the manuscript experience. Surprising how that can happen. Best to you. Cheers!
Hi Paula, tell me more about this manuscript!
What a very interesting way to speak! I like the odd flow of these words. Good job again at stretching your poetic skills, Paula! B.
Thanks. It’s amazing how much poetry had come out an editing process.
