Canvass Bound

healthy-heart

Bed comfort, so tired
Saturday morning, late breakfast
Canvass Day, reluctant muscles
Layering up, brace for chill
Park car, canvass bound
First knock, hopes high
Basic no, sadly trudge
Second no, losing faith
Third house, soul redeemed
Varied dollars, always gracious
Snow challenging, tough walk
Cold still, stubborn energy
Cars there, no answer
Frustration builds, ignoring cruel
Nearing end, more generosity
Cheerfulness raised, Heart happy
Homeward-Bound, soul renewed
Good effort, Saved lives.
