Summer Haze

A summer’s breath,

Whisks moments by.

In laughter, sun,

Inviting sky.

A pause in light

Then setting hue,

It splashes in

Then, gone from view.

This time of now

In summer’s haze,

The lengthened hour,

Til farewell days.

A drink, a tale

Bonfire gold,

Marshmallow glee,

Mosquito bold.

And in the midst

Of joyful high,

We greet them here,

Then, say good bye.

For time waits not

It sails, and swims.

It packs the dates,

Sets free our whims.

Then in a blink,

Escape for all,

In memories true,

We’ve had a ball.
