In the darkness of rain

A sweet song came alive

In swirls of dancing steps

In pitches of harmony

I was swept away

Emotion brimming

On the edge of something grand

A lifelong love

Sparked and coaxed

Into bloom of lyrical ease

In songs that stirred soul

Held in heart so dear.

An expanse of years

Have not dimmed the magic

Of inspirational brilliance

A final bow has been taken

By one who has fallen

Into a sleep that cannot be disturbed

But, from such depths

A tune continues

A beat in the choral memory

Crafted and carved

Infinitely onward

Into a cherished nostalgia

Rest in peace Ms. Charmian Carr.

A tribute to Charmian Carr, 73, known best for her role as Liesel in The Sound of Music, who died September 18 as a result of complications from Dementia. She will forever remain vibrant in the hearts and minds of all those who treasured not only her performance but the gift that film was.
