Should have stayed
I should have stayed in bed today
The morning wrenched
Wrong footing
Left of where I should have been
I should have stayed in bed today
The light was off
A treaded path fracture
A spirit troubled
I should have stayed in bed today
Once warmth of security
Unhelded, left lost
From moment to minute
I should have stayed in bed today
Reclaiming, unattained
A chip in tone
A beaten breath
I should have stayed in bed today
To own my mine-ness
To kiss the right
And pause, before rising
I should have stayed in bed.
