Obla Di Obla Da
Today while in my car listening to Obla Di Obla Da, I saw an older couple going for a stroll.
They were very well-matched in twin orange jackets and cream-coloured Tilley hats.
I wondered about them, there as I passed…
How did they meet?
How long had they been married?
Were they good parents? Or did they even have children?
Did they laugh often?
Listen well?
Were they sticklers for the rules? Or did they relish breaking them?
Where were they off to? Buy groceries? A lunch date? The hiking trail?
Yet, I did not have to wonder about their couple-ness.
After all, they were wearing matching jackets.
I smiled, as I drove on, happy they never faded from view.
