“…And That Song is Don’t Forget”
All that you were here
All that we knew
Crushed in a moment
When light dimmed from view.
One year in passing
Fanning your flame
Hoping in moments
True Healing can claim
More moving action
More hearts revive
Questing for real change
Not just to survive
You sparked the fire
You told us how
It’s time we step up
No waiting, Right now
Yes, I am guilty
I danced along
Toasted the Master
While weeping each song
That doesn’t matter
That won’t bring peace
It’s charging forward
The easy must cease
So Mr Downie,
I honour you
Miss you and treasure
The work you did do
But now my purpose
Must extend wide
Taking your torch up
In boldness reside.
